  1. I have heard from several different people about a military jet from Dobbins AFB Marietta that crashed somewhere in Hickory Flat.
Also a light passenger plane that crashed off of Hwy 5. This was before going into the north side of Woodstock across from the Woodstock library. Both of these happened sometime in the 1970s.

Thanks, Christopher. I’ll see if I can find more about the military jet, especially if it was in the Hickory Flat area.

I was in the Army Nat’l guard in Canton Ga. I was activated around 1987? for a Mohawk A-10 crash. I know it was in the winter because it was very cold outside. It was off sixes rd. just south of canton. It was from Dobbins AFB and had one pilot. He was ejected from the cockpit upon impact and his body hit a pine tree about 15 feet up in the air. I was told he lived in the area and was flying low for his little son that was watching from his residence. We had to guard the wreckage and them help clean up the wreckage.
